Sr. 3ds Max Generalists
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for a broad range of VFX related tasks, including look development and lighting of objects or elements within the vision set forth by the VFX Supervisor
- Create photo realistic moving images using 3ds Max, including miscellaneous, support FX elements, as needed
- Work with guidance from CG Supervisor and VFX Supervisor to achieve desired level of aesthetic quality and technical accuracy
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
- At least 3-5 years completing multiple, complex FX shots on a feature VFX film or examples demonstrating equivalent experience.
- Proven look development skills
- Ability to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasks
- Ability to take direction positively, work well within a team, and thrive under the pressure of tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of real world phenomena, composition, light, color, physical motion, weight, balance, texture and form
- Thorough knowledge of both 2D and 3D computer graphics techniques
- Experience with one or more of the following is a big plus!
- Photoreal 3D renderings using V-Ray
- Solving complex visual effects animation problems, such as realistic fluids, fire (smoke, etc.), debris, cloth and/or hair
- Understanding of the principles of Voxel and SPH based Fluid simulation and/or general experience in procedural FX animation with: Maya fluids, Fume FX, thinking particles, particle flow, and/or Havok.
- Texture coordinate application, shader creation and basic compositing experience
